The PMD-661 MKIII from Marantz Professional is a handheld, solid-state recorder suitable for broadcast, electronic news gathering (ENG), DSLR video, sound effects capture, forensic applications, dictation scenarios, or indeed, any application which might necessitate both the capture of audio and the password protection thereof. Its rugged build quality gives you a built-in stereo condenser microphone array, as well as two XLR inputs and an unbalanced 3.5mm line in. In addition to its built-in speaker, the PMD-661 MKIII sports unbalanced RCA jacks for connecting to compatible devices. The device records audio in multiple formats. Capturing WAV files, it can operate at sample rates and resolutions of up to 24-bit/96 kHz, giving you studio-grade digital audio. MP3s are recorded in bit rates between 32 and 320 kbps.
